FRAGMENTS OF TIME A COLLECTION OF MINI-STORIES Are you tired of those constant WAITING periods? If you wish, I have seventy mini-stories for you to read during those empty moments of boredom. They range from true psychic mysteries to the humorous observations of life. There are love stories, war stories, animal, childhood, family, and ghost stories, tragic stories, happy stories, pet peeves, plus paranormal visions and dreams. All the stories are created from a lifetime of people-watching and personal memories. Most are true, some are not. Besides the supernatural, a few of the dark stories are about betrayal, suicide, physical attacks or death threats. Others are about disappointments or regrets. The humorous stories are about animals, boy/girl problems, show-time, alcoholic partners, and anger management. These stories take only fragments of time. Consider reading them at lunch or coffee breaks, waiting for medical or job appointments, or sitting on a bus, or waiting for a phone call, or during many more lost moments of blankness in the void. From my own experiences, for your entertainment, I have also included a bonus--- a true, step by step, traditional method of HOW TO READ TEA LEAVES and spook your friends. The following are small samples of my writing. I do not believe it would be fair to the reader to reveal the story endings at this time. IN THE SHADOWS The odor of booze sits heavy in the air, a ribbon of light streaks across the dusty barroom floor. An antique jukebox plays “Am I Blue?” A woman sets aside her shot, spins on the bar stool, and saunters toward a darkened corner where a young man, gulping a beer, sits alone at a table. She leans toward him, her less than ample cleavage in sight and purrs, “Wanna’ dance?” He rivets her with weary eyes... THE STRENGTH OF FEAR Wartime! She ran as fast as her thirteen-year-old legs could carry her. As she tripped around the corner of her familiar street, the deafening buzz of death seemed as close to her as her London school uniform clinging to her sweat-soaked back. She knew that if the ominous sputtering sound of the V1 bomb suddenly stopped, it will have found its target... NIGHT FLUTTER They come at night with fairy wings and sugar breath. They caress my cheek and mesmerize my brain. They drain my essence and insert their own. Worried friends say I’ve changed, but I know different. This is who I have always been... Enjoy!
