This overview may help you decide what kind of help you need for the long term, and will give you tips for finding that help. My goal is to help the uninitiated avoid being scammed and low-balled by providing an overall review of processes and documents that mineral rights owners may eventually encounter. Trying to find a fair and honest deal is tough for the uninformed mineral rights owner, especially in states where the oil companies have a great deal of political power, and regulations are weak or scarce. I have been a go-to resource for my family on this topic since inheriting mineral rights almost 17 years ago.
