Synopsis
Artayes lives the simple life. Fun and relaxation come easy for the boy with zero ambitions and a family who cares for him. His friends are the creatures of the forest he lives in, his bed is clumps of grass and leaves beneath his favorite old tree, and his food source is a luscious garden down the pathway. Life could not be better for him, and he would have it no other way. But upon the flourishing world of Fendoria and the dim moon-sized planet of Shade, meticulous and vile plots are brewing between several different realms and every one of them involve the unaware adolescent. Monarchs, armor-laden brutes and blade-wielding masters will stop at nothing to find him, for he is a rare being produced from two species that no one ever thought imaginable. They fear he will have limitless potential with konarc: a peculiar, fog-like energy that gives life to all of Shade and which many inhabitants abuse by manipulating it with their minds for power and other purposes. Some want him for their own personal uses, while others want nothing else but his demise. What will Artayes do to survive this onslaught of terror he will soon most likely face? Will he rise up to learn his boundless abilities and confront his foes? Or will he see his bloodline as a curse and run to live another day?
