Synopsis

I was a Roman Catholic nun for eleven years and I thought I would remain a nun till I died. Then I moved to Ireland and my nightmare began. I had a new mother superior and she seemed to delight in torturing me till I went crazy. Then I was hiding out in a graveyard, self-harming and passing everyday with fear and darkness. Then a stint in a psychiatric hospital and finally the nuns threw me out, like a piece of rubbish. They gave me two days notice and fifty euros. This is my account of what it what it is like to have a mental and physical breakdown, and what it is like to be a failure, and what it is like to try and survive.
