Uttar Pradesh is one of the biggest states in India and 75% of its population lives in the villages. State of Uttar Pradesh is one of the poorest states in India due to lack of required number of industries and poor agriculture because of improper irrigation systems. That compel the millions of youths to migrate other states and countries in search of employment. Public utilities play an important role in National development. Among all utilities, Electricity is the most important for development of Nation. Management of ensuring increased electricity supplies contributes to economic growth. It’s reducing the production costs, enabling economic activities, increasing investment and improving agricultural and industrial productivity. In this book I am highlighting how Government undertaking electricity companies in India operating since decades are involve in malpractices, corruption and harassment of consumers. I have made research on Uttar Pradesh Power Corporation Limited (UPPCL) that is a public utility and should operate for well-being of the society and having responsibilities for development of nation but it’s involved and engaged in strange practices and corruption for personal benefits by ignoring the rights of society. I have been spending my entire time in research of finding the malpractices in public utilities and want to highlight it with intention for improvement which surely will help develop the Nation. This is based on authentic information gathered and shall let understand our readers the reasons of failure of Public Utilities in India.
