Synopsis

PORTIA THE MOUSE: Mango Mouse’s Evil Twin Sister, is an illustrated children’s story about Portia who is the seemingly evil mouse that hides out under two little sisters’ bed. She has a deep, unquenchable desire for cheese and will do anything to have it. She will disregard anyone that comes between her and her cheese. Her sister Mango is the total opposite and only wants what is best for her twin sister. Mango pleads with Portia not to eat cheese and especially cheese fraught with danger that is attached to a mouse trap! The two little sisters have the opportunity to rid themselves of Portia once and for all; but take a gracious approach to her but their father is not so friendly towards the household rodent. The audience for this book is likely children in the age range of 2-10 years old, who enjoy the work of authors such as David Williams, Roald Dahl, Michael Ross and Katrina Nannestad. The author is a Sydney-based writer of Australian genre-fiction. His other completed works include: SHOULDERS DADDY SHOULDERS: A Long Walk Through Strawberry Park, THE SCOOTER SISTERS: Kung Fu Kick, THE GARBAGE BOY: Frank Salvage Loves Chairs, THE SMELLY PRINCE, WINKEES: Life’s Emotions, MR. One mouse was good and the other was bad. The good mouse will keep the bad mouse at bay and away from nibbling their little toes, as long as they go to sleep. The original illustrations were managed through the author's art direction, characterisation and scene setting with a specific set of guidelines and instructions for the illustrator to follow.
