Mrs. Muldoon wants to return home to Ireland after living many years in Boston, Massachusetts. She desires to be cured spiritually before embarking on her journey. Molly, a senior in high school, and her Nonna want to help fulfill her wish. They bring her to a faith healer Mrs. Muldoon has heard about in a seedy section of downtown Boston, as well as to the ocean on the Feast of the Assumption for a blessing in the sea that day. Will Mrs. Muldoon’s prayer for home be answered?

James Mulhern has published fiction in many literary journals. In September of 2013, he was chosen as a finalist for the Tuscany Prize in Catholic Fiction. In 2015, Mr. Mulhern was awarded a fully-paid writing fellowship to study at Oxford University in the United Kingdom. Two short stories received Honorable Mentions for the Short Story America Prize. In 2017, he was nominated for a Pushcart Prize in Fiction.
