Our place in the family of Christ depends on our answers to his questions. Moreover, the future of the Church depends answers on the answers as well. The book does not propose conclusive answers but offers reflection as a doorway to answers. To this end, Reflection and Discussion Guides are included to assist the reader on the way to answers in processing the answers.

W. Dean Witten is a 1960 graduate of Florida Southern College with a Bachelor of Arts degree. He is also a 1963 graduate of the Methodist Theological School in Ohio with a Master of Divinity degree. In addition, Florida Southern honored him with a Doctor of Divinity degree. Pastor Witten was ordained an elder and granted full membership in the Florida Annual Conference of The United Methodist Church in 1964. He has since served as pastor of seven United Methodist churches. Moreover, he served as superintendent of the Sarasota and Orlando Districts, 1992 to 2002. After 41 years of ministry he retired in June 2002. Other books written by Pastor Witten include: Does God Really Care About Me?
