Synopsis
French Leave shows two pictures of rural France, 200 years after its Revolution. One is seen through the eyes of ludicrously self-indulgent ex-pat Brits; and the other is recalled by confused Jean-Marie, who is trapped in its past. Peppered with eccentric Brits and bemused locals this is a comic tale of bingo, love, septic tanks, ironing, exotic cheroots and unsavory scams set against a backdrop of the beauties of rural France.
