This little Primer, for children just beginning to read, is written in the belief that their first reading lessons will appeal most strongly to their interest if founded on ideas which are already familiar. Before the children are allowed to read from the book they should have much blackboard reading based upon the Mother Goose rhymes which are here used. Each rhyme in the book is preceded by a full-page illustra tion. The children will readily talk about the picture, and will then be eager to read the simple sentences which follow the rhyme, and conclude with a prose version of the rhyme, a page of review sentences, and a page of action sentences.
