Paperback. Etat : New. Print on Demand. This book explores the geology of Graham Island, the most northerly of the Queen Charlotte group on the Pacific coast and its coal areas. The analysis of coal deposits discovered twenty years ago is at the center of this study. The author ventured to three points on the island known as Camp Wilson, Camp Robertson, and Camp Anthracite and provided an insightful account of the probable extension of the seams. The exploration also details a boat voyage around the entire island, and a traverse across the central portion was made by way of Masset inlet, the Yakoun river and lake, and theme by trail across the coal basin to Skidegate. This trek was undertaken to ascertain the northern limit of the coal field and the character of the Yakoun river to assess it as a possible means for accessing the coal. The author's substantial efforts in this book have deepened our understanding of the geology and coal potential of Graham Island.
