It will enable these to learn, in a short time, and have a general insight to the names of our great men and note the principal events connected with our Icelandic his tory. The chief aim of this work is to impress upon you the primitive history of iceland and therefrom trace the advance of civilization with its hearings on our nationality and peculiar characteristics, the finance of the country and condition of the people.
