Paperback. Etat : New. Print on Demand. This book catalogues the superb collection of American coins and medals assembled by Allison W. Jackman, a highly cultured gentleman who de voted his life to numismatics. It features a life-work of over seven decades, showing coins that are the greatest beauty and rarity. The "nes" that I describe in the brief space of an auction catalogue are of exquisite detail, proving the author to be a master coin collector. These coins have been examined and found to be genuine, constituting a collection of American coins and medals which is almost certainly the nest and rarest ever to be offered for sale at public auction. The author has exercised his utmost care in describing the coins, and the coins will meet those descriptions - no matter how seemingly extravagant they may sometimes appear to the person who is not favored by the presence of the specimen be fore him. If he had found it to be of any damage, he has mentioned it. The coins are beautiful in their details and are magnicent, exhibiting great care in their preservation and display. Standing out in a conspicuous manner is the New York Brasher Doubloon, or 1787. This is the second earliest United States Gold Coin, with only four others and one with a counterstamp in the center being the sum total of all that are known. This book is a reproduction of an important historical work, digitally reconstructed using state-of-the-art technology to preserve the original format. In rare cases, an imperfection in the original, such as a blemish or missing page, may be replicated in the book. print-on-demand item. N° de réf. du vendeur 9781528012683_0
