The O.S.P.A. was founded in 1879 to protect members from unfair lawsuits and to promote the profession of pharmacy. This volume chronicles an address of welcome by Toledo's Mayor Jones and responses from McCann and Arny on behalf of the Toledo druggists and the association, respectively. It includes submitted membership applications and discusses issues related to poison and narcotics laws. The author also suggests a plan for a national pharmacy examination to gradually bring about uniformity in state board examinations. Other topics include the sale of cocaine and the scarcity of pharmacy apprentices, both attributed to low wages and long hours.
