I feel that this quotation can well epitomize the history of m.i.t. In World War II. NO one who participated in these activities, nor any writer or reader of this history, can grasp it fully nor miss it wholly, but it is certainly true that from all the facts assembled there arises a certain grandeur which is the total contribution by the Massachusetts Institute of Technology toward the winning of what we hope and pray will have been the last great world war.
