Excerpt from Peach Growing
Essex has grown peaches perhaps as long as the iagara Peninsula, and is second in importance to-day. Repeated freezings have done much injury there, but as improved methods have become more generally understood the industry has become more firmly established, and it is believed that, now, the growers are in a much better position to fight the extremes of winter than formerly. The plantings are increasing very rapidly, and the quality of fruit that reaches the market is equal to the best in Ontario. As in the Niagara Peninsula the plantings during the last few years have increased extensively. About the Publisher Forgotten Books publishes hundreds of thousands of rare and classic books.
