Synopsis

"Fifty Years in the Magic Circle" is an Signor Blitz's 1871 autobiography. Signor Blitz (1810 - 1877) was a British magician and performer. He first started performing at the early age of thirteen, his performances quickly becoming known for their incorporation of humour. He died in his home in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania six years after writing this book. Contents include: "My Early Life", "Appearance in Public", "Incidents in England", "Adventure with Gamblers", "The Inquisitive Ladies", "Ireland", "Irish Character", "The Witches under the Bridge", "Visit to Scotland", "The Bottled Janitor", etc. Many vintage books such as this are increasingly scarce and expensive. It is with this in mind that we are republishing this volume now in an affordable, modern, high-quality edition complete with a specially-commissioned new introduction on magic tricks.
