Kim Leine is a Danish-Norwegian novelist. His previous novel to be translated into English, The Prophets of Eternal Fjord, was shortlisted for the 2017 International Dublin Literary Award, won the Golden Laurel Award, Denmark’s leading literary prize, and the Nordic Council's Literature Prize, awarded for books published across all the Nordic countries.

Martin Aitken’s translations of Scandinavian literature number some thirty-five books. His work has appeared on the shortlists of the International DUBLIN Literary Award (2017) and the US National Book Awards (2018), as well as the 2021 International Booker Prize. He received the PEN America Translation Prize in 2019.
