Synopsis

As farm children growing up in rural Indiana, never in their wildest imaginings did Dave and Jen Bell ever dream God would pluck them out of those familiar cornfields and transplant them halfway across the world to rescue abandoned babies! Now serving as full-time Christian missionaries in Kenya, the Bells were living the American dream when God called them to surrender it all. Trusting and obeying, the Bells sold everything and left behind their former lives to follow God's leading...without knowing their future destination, but with the assurance that God's plans are perfect! This is the inspiring true story of how God called and equipped two ordinary people to do extraordinary work for His Kingdom. It was as simple and as difficult as putting into practice what Dave's father taught him to do when eating an ice cream cone as a little boy..."lick and turn."

Terry Gray was born and reared in rural Indiana, graduating from Hagerstown High School, and earning Master of Science in Elementary Education from Indiana University. After a brief stint as a second-grade teacher, she became a stay-at-home mother to four children. Terry and her husband Kim are now empty-nesters, living in a cabin in the middle of Indiana cornfields and enjoying their family, especially their eight young grandchildren. Terry's hobbies include photography, keeping up her blog www.notquitecountrygirl.com, working at her church, beekeeping, and traveling. She and her husband have a special passion for overseas mission work, and have ongoing involvement in children's homes in both India and Kenya.
