Synopsis

Enter a world where a dumb animal turns out not to be so dumb after all but is striving to become a god. Spend some time on the elemental plane of fire, mining gold and gems, thanks to a pair of magic boots. Meanwhile, the National Park Service is digging up a tyrannosaur skeleton, but will anyone fund the excavation, and the museum to house the bones? Finally, two stoned Japanese men get it in their heads to fly to Morocco and hunt for a djinni--but what will they do if they find one? Welcome to Madness and Other Stories, a collection of sixteen tales spun from the mind of Randal Doering, who has done this all before and gets better with experience. From modern America to ancient Mexico to Tibet and Morocco, this collection hops continents and cultures to bring you interesting, fun stories about men, women, children and animals whose lives are about to get really weird. There are 98,000 words here, a good fat collection, and the stories range from 3500 words to 12000 words. The tales are set up with alternating male and female protagonists, so if you are looking for a girl story, there are eight of them here, and if you're looking for a boy story there are eight of those, too. Most of the stories are fantasies, some are sci-fi, and one is a horror story set in San Diego. Dig in and enjoy the stories, and if you like them, recommend them to friends! Tons of good stuff, and just for you...
