Author Deborah Muth first became interested in history during a fourth-grade field trip to Mission San Jose. A 30-year resident of Scotts Valley, she is a board member of the Scotts Valley Historical Society (SVHS), a Scotts Valley planning commissioner, and a longtime community volunteer. This books uses photographs from the SVHS and several private collections. Muth is passionately committed to preserving the local history of Scotts Valley.
