Although inspired by an insight he has yet to prove, the young biologist painfully decides to leave academics for his family’s survival. Fueled by his lingering hope to be more convincing, to better engage the perspectives of others, he rediscovers poetry. His passions evolve into more artistic explorations of how to survive and temporarily prevail. He is intrigued by boundaries, war, hate, love and the place of humans in cycles of the natural world. In the process he finds his own perspective expanding to involve a character who can transcend the human body in time and space.

Ken's lifelong fascination with boundaries of social behavior has resulted in a rare perspective. He attributes many of his writing skills to a strong high school enriched English program and creative writing at the University of Michigan, where he received a Bachelor's Degree in Science. Ken received his Master's and Doctoral degrees at Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan, where he studied whole organism biology, animal behavior and ornithology. His doctoral thesis was on species recognition of song by the indigo bunting, under the guidance of William Lay Thompson. After a few years teaching at The University of Michigan, Dearborn and summers at Wayne County Community College, Ken spent two years in Post-Doctoral research at McGill University in Montreal, under Robert E. Lemon. Aferward he did some private consulting and taught at Bellevue Community College in Bellevue, WA. For the last 35 years, Ken has been a real estate broker and managing broker in Bellevue and Seattle, WA. Ken has worked in public health, scrub nursing, curation, consulting, teaching, sales and management.
