Synopsis

This book was written with the purpose in mind to help beginner writers' who have an idea but don't know where to begin to develop it. Over many years of writing I have discovered that most books on creative writing assume the novice writer knows the basics, however, this book is about the basics and how to take an idea and develop it through a series of processes and finish up with a good finished product that can be sent to a Literary Agency or Publisher. Writing is a personal art and a lonely one, if a new writer can understand the basics, then they will progress faster to the more advanced areas of writing. I have been teaching creative writing for many years and still do so, be it one to one or through my local writing courses. I have had writers who have come to me not knowing where to start and have learnt how to start and progress to their writing goal. I have had one of my students who became a best selling author for Waterstones Books and is now working on her second. My ambition in life is to be a better writer and help others on their way. There but for the Grace of God go I.

À propos de l?auteur

My name is Keith Argyle and I have been interested in creative writing since I was 9 years old. However, I didn't begin to write seriously until I had to retire from work at 40 years old. Since 1990 I have written around forty books of various lengths, mainly around 85,000 words to 115,000 words. My shorter works have been around 10,000 words up to 40,000 words. I aim to write at least two books every year on a personal basis, whilst I live and hope to one day have a best seller. The most I have done in one year was three books of around 85,000 words to 110,000 words. I also write with three other authors at the same time of writing my own novels etc. The reason for writing this book on creative writing, is because so many people have said I ought to do so, so this is my effort to satisfy an open need to beginner writers. I hope it reaches many who need that extra helping hand. I wish all new writers' the best of luck and never give in. I write a minimum of 2000 words a day and anywhere up to 4,000 words when actually writing, I spend a great deal of time researching and planning, using the techniques I explain in this new book on the subject of Creative Writing. Thank you, Keith Argyle.
