Synopsis

The Guardian of Technical Excellence differentiates itself from other self help books by providing best practices and lessons learned from a military aircraft Chief Engineer's perspective - combining the need for a strong technical foundation, and commitment to technical excellence paired with leadership. While the work experiences and examples are focused on military aircraft weapon systems, the learnings can also be applied to other industries. The book is primarily targeted for early and mid-career engineers, including students aspiring to be engineers. The book defines and explains why topics such as “First Time Quality,” “Ethics in Engineering,” and “Valuing Diversity” are so important in achieving business results. Key technical processes are explained in addition to thoughts on career planning, which are provided in a user-friendly manner for the reader. See: www.theguardianbook.com.
