Biographie de l'auteur

Hillary Drummond Simpson is first and foremost a mother who has experienced the challenges of raising a 'successful' black man. Her broader perspective comes from being an educator for more than twenty years in three different states. Here she has found the same recurring problem of most black boys wanting to be in entertainment or sports and thereby underachieving in school. In 2005, she established Boys to Men Mentoring Program where black boys are mentored by male leaders in the school, college and community. She is passionate about seeing our African American boys succeed because she believes that the black family cannot continue to operate on 'fifty percent' "We need our men to take their leadership roles at home and in society" Hillary is a former host and executive producer of her own television talk-show Viewpoint with Hillary. Ms. Simpson received her bachelors in Marketing and Management from New York University, Masters in Elementary Education from Adelphi University in New York, and Masters in Administration and Supervision from Kean University in New Jersey. Due to her belief that students need to learn experientially, she designed and created an Outdoor Classroom where students learn all subjects in a fun and natural environment. She has been named Teacher of the Year 2013-2014.
