Synopsis

The Fourth Estate supports TexTESOL IV mission by promote scholarship; sharing information through publication and research, and promote high standards in the field of English to Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL). The Fourth Estate seeks to facilitate this purpose in each publication by providing timely and relevant articles, information, and communication for each of following Interest Areas. These contributions serve as a means of communication between leaders and members, provide a forum for the exchange of ideas, experiences, questions, and insights, feature dialogue around issues of importance to the specific interest area, and nurture the professional growth of those working within those interest areas. Fourth Estate is published quarterly by TexTESOL IV to engage the faculty, students, administrators, and program developers of ELS/EFL on current practical issues pertinent to the field in both print (PDF) and online form.

À propos de l'auteur

Alex Monceaux holds an MA – English and an M. Ed – Human Development, teaches English as a Second Language at TIEP at Lamar, Lamar University, Integrated Reading & Writing and Composition at LIT. In addi-tion to serving on the TexTESOL Board of Directors, he is services as editor for TESOL International’s Materials Writers Interest Section (MWIS), Co-Chair, By-Laws Committee for the Texas Counseling Association, a State Af-filiate of the American Counseling Association, and serves on the Editorial Board for the Journal of Language Learning and Teaching for the 21st Century. Other than teaching and counseling, Alex enjoys researching, writing, and presenting at various conferences. Some of the various areas of research he is currently involved in are: As-sessing Self-Regulation in Students, Relationship between Assessments, Student Stress, and Student Achievement, Complexities in ELL Identity Formation, Formative/Summative Assessments, Use of Repetition and Managed Stress for Content Mastery. Some of Alex’s hobbies include hiking, travel, canoeing and rafting, and spending time with his family.
