Would they each have something they wanted to teach, say or ask? Seven colored and 27 black and white illustrations. Biography of the author and color illustrator. Analyzed Reading Level 4.2, due to the antiquated writing.

About the Author

Author Rev. Francis Arthur Spilsbury Reid, MA (1850?) Francis A. S. Reid M.A. of St. John’s College, Cambridge, England. He was curate in charge and vicar designate for Lower Streatham St. Andrew, Streatham Marriages, and Parish Registers of Surrey. His book was published in circa 1872 using chromo-lithography which included the pigment gold, a difficult procedure. Reid’s book was also published by Frederick Warne, and illustration by Berry F Berry it was printed from Kronheim & Co. No other books have been found of Reid and Berry team, possibly a pen name. Color plates by Joseph Martin Kronheim (1819-1896) Born in Magdeburg, Germany on October 26th and died in Berlin at the age of 85. Joseph with the help of George Baxter started The Kronheim & Co., which printed biblical prints, with an achievement of 5000 different prints. Joseph used a new medium zinc instead of wood blocks. Having produced over 1000 different ones, some for the 1855 Paris Exhibition. At one point his critics stated he was more concerned with quantity not quality but his children books were of a high quality he was also well known for his prints entitled Spring, Summer, Autumn and Winter.
