Synopsis

In the strict society of dragons, becoming an adult means everything. For only adult dragons are fearsome enough to dazzle human minds into forgetfulness, thereby keeping dragons safely within the realms of myth and mystery.

But for one young dragon named Ittle, time is running out. Dragons must become large and monstrous enough by their one hundredth birthdays to be considered adults or face exile and disgrace. And despite his utmost efforts, Ittle simply cannot grow.

Facing a life of embarrassment with the possibility of exile, Ittle attends a grueling finishing school as a last-ditch effort. Unfortunately, even the regimen of the school fails to make him grow.

As desperation sets in, Ittle decides the only way to prove his strength is by undertaking a daring duel with another dragon—a sure disaster. But just as all hope seems lost, Ittle is faced with the chance to become an unlikely hero to save another dragon’s life and prove all those who doubt him wrong.

The Birthday Parties of Dragons is a tale of a misfit dragon in the pursuit of self-acceptance and confidence whose mission will prove that fearsomeness comes in all sizes.
