An exploration of "plein Air" art by the artist Phil Dynan. Over 50 pages of full-colour paintings that demonstrate the artist's work. The term “new plein air” refers to using creative license to paint “in the open” and use of an impressionistic and expressive style to convey the “true sense” of a place, building, person, or landscape through the use of interpretive style, colour and strokes. In other words, the style of the “New Plein Air” involves simplification, abstraction and symbolism.
