Synopsis

With hands-on maker activities for readers to try, the first book in this zany graphic novel series follows two kid superheroes who use the powers of science and engineering to save their city, one ice cream cone at a time.

Introducing the newest superheroes of New Bork City: Maker Girl and Professor Smarts! So what if they didn’t actually receive superpowers when that comet hit earth a few months back and created a bunch of other superheroes and supervillains? Maker Girl can make just about anything, and Professor Smarts is the sharpest kid on the block. They're more than a match for villainous Mr. Anti-Freeze, who’s bent on ruining the town’s ice cream—by turning it all to slime! This fast-paced story delivers classic hero escapades with light-hearted twists, and readers can get in on the action by making their own super creations, from a toilet-paper-roll grappling hook to some delicious sorbet. Every colorful page bursts with kid-friendly art, hilarious characters, and the excitement of STEM.

À propos de l'auteur

Jasmine Florentine is an author and illustrator who is passionate about using creative approaches to engage kids with science. After receiving a master’s degree from MIT in mechanical engineering, she worked as a mechatronics engineer at a robotics company and an engineer and artist for FIRST, a nonprofit that runs robotics competitions to inspire students to pursue STEM. Her debut novel, Hex Allen and the Clanksmiths, was released in 2022. When she is not building robots, drawing cartoons, or championing STEM, Jasmine Florentine loves hiking and rambling at length about her current favorite book, usually at the same time. She lives in the UK with her family.
