Reaching for the Dawn is a collection of poetry, prose, and short stories inspired by the challenges and victories in my life as a survivor of child sexual abuse.Some of this writing is emotional and dark. It is also an attempt to express the resolve, courage, and self-preservation it takes to survive abuse. Hopefully, some people can find a glimpse of hope and inspiration in my writings. I used my strength and drive to keep going; I chose life because, deep inside, I knew there could be wonders around the next corner.Shivering in the dark of night, I prayed for the sunrise, I reached for the dawn.I craved change, I craved survival - I wished for a new day to try again.
