Modern people have a hard time believing in God and Christianity. There are three reasons for this. First, in recent years, the belief has been going around that science has disproved the existence of God. But that's a belief that is based on 19th century science. In modern physics there is a result that proves the existence of God but hardly anyone even knows about it except for a few philosophers and physicists. In philosophy, they call the idea eternalism. In physics, it's called the blockworld or the block universe or super-determinism.
The blockworld is an idea that will shatter everyone's current beliefs about the world. In this book, Dr. Tveter explains the blockworld concept using a simple analogy about how the universe is like a gigantic amusement park ride such as the haunted mansion ride. And then shows that the universe must have a Creator.
The second reason people have a hard time believing in God and Christianity is that hardly any Christians ever give a rational explanation of Christianity. In the Bible, God often is obtuse or poetic and this simply confuses people. In this book, Dr. Tveter explains Christianity in a straightforward, rational, nuts-and-bolts way that modern people can understand. Strangely enough, many of the insights modern people need to understand Christianity come from the blockworld concept.
The third reason people have a hard time believing in God and Christianity is that many of the events in the Bible seem like fairy-tales. Dr. Tveter goes on to discuss many of the events from Genesis that modern people have found unbelievable and shows that there are rational explanations for them. The explanations include such topics as the account of the Creation in Genesis 1, men before Adam and Noah's flood.
There is an appendix for the more scientifically inclined reader that shows how the blockworld concept comes from relativity and quantum mechanics.
