Mr. Sterling Mark currently serves as the owner and C.E.O. of Sterling Empowerment. He previously led the Black & Brown Brothers Mentoring program and Men Achieving Leadership Excellence (M.A.L.E.) program at Prairie View A&M University. Mr. Mark is a proud and productive alumnus of Prairie View A&M University. He obtained a B.S. in Business Administration with a concentration in Marketing and a Master’s degree in Business Administration (M.B.A.). Mark’s senior year, he worked as the Facility Supervisor at Recreational Sports at Prairie View A&M University. Mark, managed over 30 student staff, which he led and directed to ensure safety and student development on a daily. He was also an active member of Collegiate 100, which initiated the transition for his astounding stalwart leadership that he was recognized for. The summer of 2014, Mark was selected the 1st ever Vice President for Administration Intern at Prairie View A&M University. During his intern, he interacted with high-level executives on a daily basis, and led the initiative to bridge the gap between minorities graduating from a higher learning institution. Mark coordinated and conducted powerful weekly male success sessions, impacting the lives of over 90 incoming freshmen. After reading the feedback from the student evaluations, it was clear that his purpose is to help minorities that come from hardships and make them aware of the many opportunities that college has to offer. Mr. Mark was born in Lufkin, Texas. Mark’s mother was a single mother with three kids and all different fathers. His mother didn’t attend college, never had a stable job, and resorted to alcohol to provide her balance, which led to a hopeless childhood. His mother moved after his sophomore year in high school, so Mr. Mark was homeless and introduced to the street life hands-on at an early age. When Mr. Mark arrived at Prairie View he was another lost soul. Fortunately, Mr. Mark was able to get the right people in his life and make a glorifying transition. He is now planning on passing his knowledge to other students around the world, to ensure that they are equipped with the tools to succeed. Mr. Mark is within student’s age range, so when he speaks he’s able to connect with them in a stronger and effective way. Today, he is actively seeking to share his story and experiences to make an instilling impact on the lives of people everywhere.
