Part Two begins when the two survivors of the flood move north along the Yakima River, across the rugged Cascade Mountains over harrowing Stampede Pass, along Green River, and end at the salty waters of Puget Sound. As with all primitive peoples, nature is both their adversary and their only hope for survival.
