Synopsis

Learn slide guitar in standard tuning by playing 25 familiar tunes.

Instead of learning slide guitar only through isolated riffs and scales, Slide Guitar Collection puts the essential techniques into complete songs you can recognize and enjoy playing.

Designed for 6-string acoustic or electric guitar in standard EADGBE tuning, this collection is suitable for beginner to intermediate players. There is no need to retune your guitar to an open tuning.

Inside you'll find:

  • 25 complete slide guitar arrangements

  • Guitar TAB, standard notation, and chord symbols

  • Step-by-step guidance for basic slide technique

  • Practice with intonation, muting, vibrato, string pressure, tone, and tilt-slide techniques

  • 12 focused slide guitar exercises

  • Exercises for pitch control, 3rds, 6ths, pull-offs, hammer-ons, chords, and a pedal-steel-style lick

  • Guitar note and fingerboard reference charts

  • Online tune recordings and backing tracks

  • Companion resources with streaming audio, scrolling TAB and notation videos, and additional slide guitar help

Most of the melodies are arranged mainly on one or two strings. This helps reduce unnecessary string skipping and lets you concentrate on clean slide movement, accurate pitch, muting, and tone. The tunes generally progress from easier arrangements toward more challenging material.

25 tunes include:

House of the Rising Sun • Scarborough Fair • The Water Is Wide • Be Thou My Vision • Shenandoah • Worried Man Blues • Ode to Joy • Little Brown Jug • When the Saints Go Marching In • Greensleeves • Will the Circle Be Unbroken • Wild Mountain Thyme • Wayfaring Stranger • Skye Boat Song • Amazing Grace • The Parting Glass • Danny Boy • Für Elise • Streets of Laredo • Bill Bailey • Saint Louis Blues • The Blue Danube • After You've Gone • Beale Street Blues • Air on a G String

A practical collection for building the fundamentals of slide guitar while making music from the beginning.
