Synopsis
In light of recent events in both the U. S. and abroad, Islam has become a focal point of cultural and religious interest. We have been told by media pundits, social commentators, and practicing Muslims that Islam is a religion of peace, and that the recent atrocities conducted in the name of Islam are representative of radicalism, not pure Islam. Also popular is the notion that Islam and Christianity are similar religions, distinct only in minor details.
