Synopsis

In this lovable tale aimed at four-to-six-year-olds, a little boy learns how to take care of his new pet and how to accept someone who acts a little differently.

Danny the kitten follows the little boy home one day and becomes a new member of the family. The little boy loves his new pet but grows concerned when Danny spends most of his time curled up and hiding. He looks for Danny all over the place. But Danny seems happy, so even though the little boy is frustrated, he accepts that this is just how Danny is. The kitten loves hiding.

Then the little boy and his mother are at the animal shelter, and they learn something that changes everything! They figure out why Danny was hiding, and they make a change so that everyone is happier.

Constance Gottlieb is the author of another children’s book, A Room to Grow In, which explains how the bedroom of each child is special and unique. In addition to being a writer, Gottlieb is an interior designer. She was also a college professor at Nassau Community College in New York State, where she researched and developed several courses. As a professor, she regularly mentored students.

Gottlieb and her husband have a deep love for cats. They live in New York and the Hamptons but often travel to Rhode Island to visit their children and grandchildren. They have also traveled widely in Europe, Asia, and Africa. Gottlieb’s website can be found at imconstance.com.
