Deitche is the author of several books on organized crime, including the critically acclaimed Garden State Gangland: The Rise of the Mob in New Jersey and Hitmen: The Mafia, Drugs, and the East Harlem Purple Gang. He has also written articles on organized crime for national magazines and newspapers and has been featured on numerous television and news shows. Deitche lives in St. Petersburg, Florida.
