Synopsis

The Ten Commandments were the laws set down by God for the Israelites after they had been delivered from Egypt. They formed a covenant between God and God's people. Understanding the Ten Commandments is vital in understanding the Christian Faith. This study is a comprehensive and interesting approach to understanding the Ten Commandments within their context in the Old Testament and in light of the New. Each chapter is organized to present each commandment as a one hour Bible study. Chapters begin with a prayer, which is followed by a series of Bible passages illuminating the Commandment addressed in the chapter. Each passage has associated questions to be answered by the reader or group. Commentary is provided for each passage as a summary and to spur further discussion. This study can be done in groups or as an individual approach to God's Word. Study sheets are provided on-line for each chapter. This study illuminates the Ten Commandments and illustrates how vital they remain in the modern world.
