Synopsis

Logan Lighthorse is a very special boy, descended from a long line of Chickasaw men. Through the generations, the Chickasaw blood had been greatly diminished through marriages and births, and Logan did not resemble his ancestors. But kids can sometimes be cruel, especially when they’re about to enter middle school, and bullies tormented Logan simply because of his name. When Logan comes to believe he has obtained special powers due to a sudden illness, he and his best friend, Zack the Flak Johnson, find themselves contemplating how best to use those powers. Should they put the bullies in their place by exacting revenge on them? What Logan doesn’t know is that someone very unusual has been watching out for him…and helping him to accept that integrity means more than anything.

Beverly R. Jones was born and raised in the South. After residing in a number of locations in and outside of the continental U.S., she re-settled in South Carolina and has made it her home for several years now. Her travels as a former military wife have included temporary residences in Colorado, Alabama, Georgia, Alaska, Hawaii and Kwajalein Atoll in the Marshall Islands. Her favorite locale to write about still remains primarily the South. "There's just something about the South you can't get out of your blood, even though one day I'd like to write a novel based in Alaska or the Marshall Islands and include many of the unique experiences of living there. The South, however, is where my strongest and quirkiest characters come from." Ms. Jones's first novel, "All Things Sacred", was followed by an anthology of short stories, and a compilation of her late grandmother's poetry. She is the author of several award-winning short stories, which were published in both electronic and print magazines. Her newest release, "The Lighthorse Legacy," is a children's novel for ages 10 and up. She is currently working on a second anthology of suspenseful short stories for teens and adults, as well as another children's novel, a followup to "The Lighthorse Legacy."
