Noel Shafi is a writer from New York City. Born in 1984, he was raised in Washington Heights, Manhattan, and later moved to Williamsbridge, The Bronx. He received his B.A. in Psychology/Philosophy from SUNY Oneonta, and received his M.S. in Neuroscience and Education from Teachers College. Shafi is a member of the United States Chess Federation (USCF) and is currently ranked as a Class B player in the USCF league.
