She has a bachelor's degree in mass communication from Winona State University, a master's degree in mass communication from Arizona State University, and a historic preservation certificate from Bucks County Community College. She has worked as a magazine editor, television news producer, content writer and a communications consultant. She has published several historical articles and is also a published romance author.
