One can go to any local Christian bookstore and see several shelves stocked full of the latest "how to prophesy" book. This is not that type of book. The church is embracing the restoration of the gift of prophecy to the church. Without it we often are left with a dry, absence of God in our present day situation. However, with the rise in legitimate prophetic ministry, there is sure to be error, mixture and the outright false. Nowadays, everyone claims to be a prophet or is throwing prophecy around a bit too flippantly. For this reason I feel there is a need to re-define our current understanding of prophecy. Our definition defines identity.

Russell Wimberly's passion is to revive and equip the church. Russell teaches regularly on subjects like prayer, intercession, prophetic ministry, leadership and missional outreach. Russell and his team have hosted several conferences and events that have functioned as a type of organic school of ministry. Russell and his wife are currently the senior leaders of Elgin City Church, a new spirit-filled church in Elgin, Illinois. The vision of Elgin City Church is to be a connection source to help those far from God get connected to God.
