Synopsis

After losing his parents in a tragic accident, Vinnie Esposito is sent to the She'ol Home for Young Men in Stovepipe Wells, CA. Faced with grief and anger from losing his parents, Vinnie must rely on the caretaker, Elijah, and the other boys as he attempts to move on from his past and forgive the man that took everything away from him. He has difficulty getting to know the other boys as he adjusts to his new life. With the rest of the boys already established in their ways by the time he arrived, Vinnie is left feeling like the outcast.Things begin to turn around when he starts running with another boy, Michael Ray. Michael invites Vinnie to help him train for Hell's Ultramarathon, a 146 mile race from Badwater to Mount Whitney. However, things get heated when word gets out about the race and Abe Addon decides to compete against him. A rift develops among the boys as they choose between Michael and Abe. With the She'ol divided, who will come out victorious on the summit of Mount Whitney?

Mike is a graduate of East Carolina University where he earned his BA in Psychology with a minor in English and went on to earn his Master’s Degree in Counselor Education from ECU as well. Mike now lives an adventurous life in North Carolina with his wife, Danielle. He works as a school counselor and track coach where he is always encouraging others to dream big and work toward their goals. He uses running as a way to help his students build character and to realize their potential. When not working, Mike enjoys traveling with his wife. They have traveled around the United States running half marathons together and have also done some destination runs in other countries around the world. One day they hope to run a race in every state in the United States and to run a race on every continent.
