Synopsis

Youth/Adult Edition: Addressing the Pathway to Success is a training course designed to assist participants with setting goals in order to achieve and maintain success. The purpose is to provide a blueprint of what success looks like to make it easier to obtain. The course also teaches self-esteem and confidence building through the use of self-assessments. In addition, this course demonstrates how taking personal responsibility for decision-making encourages a mindset that is focused and self-aware. Both components that are necessary to achieve and maintain success in spite of circumstances.

About the Authors: T. M. Burnett & R. L. Harrington Tamara Burnett is an Author, Motivational Speaker, and Consultant. She is passionate about helping others find alternative methods of achieving personal growth through the use of self-reflective techniques designed to promote a mindset that is conducive to self-sufficiency and independence. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Communications and subsequently earned a certification in Human Resource Management. She is currently working on a Master of Science in Psychology. Tamara has authored two books, “Finding Comfort In My Own Skin: My Journey In Self-Preservation” and “Simple Life Lessons From Adolescence to Adulthood: A Pocket Guide To Self-Fulfillment”, which were inspired by her own personal growth overcoming challenges as a child and adult. She also has a motivational CD titled, “The Power of Positive Thinking: Measured Optimism in the Face of Adversity.” Robin L. Harrington served as a Chief Deputy Warden of the Female Offenders Programs and Services/Special Housing Mission at the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation (CDCR) before retiring in December 2015. She has worked at both men’s and women’s institutions and has held various administrative and custodial positions within CDCR. She started her career in 1986 as a correctional officer at Folsom State Prison and was promoted to sergeant, lieutenant, correctional counselor, special agent, captain, and associate warden throughout CDCR. Before she joined CDCR, she served in the United States Air Force as a non-commissioned officer and specialized as an aircraft electrician. She holds a master’s degree in education with an emphasis in Workforce Development Advocacy, and a BA from California State University, Sacramento.
