In stories like “Working Fast” and “Wardrobe Malfunction” Ms. Key gives us a window into the process of “ageing in place” with a huge dose of humor thrown in for good measure.

Virginia Key was born in a small Southern town sometime in the first half of the previous century and was educated in the old-fashioned manner by a series of teachers and professors who had never heard of “common core.” As a child, her favorite celebrity was Tallulah Bankhead, and she is a lifelong fan of Vince Scully. Today she is happily ageing in place and loving her “Life at the Wrinkle Ranch.”
