Synopsis

Up in the Bear Cave is the powerful story of a reclusive mountain woman who has kept a dark secret for thirty years. Etta Pines is gravely ill and desperately wants to protect the memory of her sister, Ivy. She shares her story after extracting a promise that the writer will record it just as she tells it. The writer discovers there is more to Etta's story than she has chosen to tell him, which leads to a suspenseful ending that asks: "What really happened on that fateful night on the blowing rock?"
