What are my American Lessons? Why do I want to share them with you? I intended to write a book called "My American Dream." Yet even though I have achieved some of that dream during my life, the dream has become increasingly anachronistic, akin to how we romanticize or fantasize “the good old days,” which we can never truly attain. The concept of “American Lessons” or "The New American Dream" may be more valuable to those who understand they must be well-prepared to get ahead in this extremely challenging world. The definition of “reality” is not what one thinks the world ought to be or what one wishes it will be, but rather what it is. In this book, you will examine with me some thought-provoking topics on sociopolitical issues that we are still struggling to comprehend. Often, these contentious ideologies divide the nation and hinder social progress. In this book, I share with you the lessons I have learned through my experiences, observations, and conversations with not only my American friends, but friends from other parts of the world, too. I attempt to do this while being as objective, non-judgmental, and enlightening as possible. It is my hope that readers can draw valuable lessons from the American realities discussed in this book. Obviously, this book only reflects one man's view of reality. I do not expect all my readers to agree with me, however I invite you to be open minded, raise questions, think outside of the box, and learn lessons from new perspectives about the current affairs and daily challenges we face in this modern world.Fasten your seat belt and let me drive you around to revisit some familiar hot spots from my unconventional perspective.

About the Author Daniel Nie, M.A., M.F.A., artist and workshop leader, has a lifetime of experience in the art of using Sumi-e ink and pointed brush to create hieroglyphs. In 1990, he was an art professor at St. Andrews Presbyterian College. There, he developed a new art form that he called, "Coolligraphy." This form of calligraphy intertwines the letters of a word or words to create an intricate hieroglyphic image. The art is not only unique, but the process of creating it requires special skills that take years to perfect. Daniel's Coolligraphy demonstrations always bring enjoyment and amazement to audiences at his exhibitions. A recipient of the Sam Ragan N.C. Fine Arts Award in 2000, Nie's workshops are well-received by corporations, civic groups, and organizations. Daniel has spent the past 20 years traveling around the country to different venues and sharing his art and talent with thousands of his fans. Daniel Nie has published many other books, which are all available on Amazon.com. To view Daniel Nie's artworks, please visit: www.DanielNie.com
