I am 81 years now and have been writing prose poems for the last six years. My first book was published in late 2016 and was called ‘Simply Prose’. This collection, simply titled ‘More Prose’ contains ninety new prose. I worked in the building industry with my late father and late brother working as an apprentice mason/bricklayer for five years, which was the usual length of time in those days. My five brothers and two uncles and nephew also worked in the trade. When work became slack at home, many trades people would go to England. It was quite near and work was easier to come by. For my own part from 1957/58 to 1988, that was the lifestyle on and off. I am retired now 16 years, and having bought a computer 6 years ago, I have been writing prose which we know as ‘ordinary writing’. I am not and have never been married. Prose is a helpful hobby to adopt and it is interesting. A few topics I write about are; birds, a waterfall, rocks with faces, cats in my backyard, even items of furniture. Anything that takes my fancy; most anything I see. This is what I write about. Joe O’Sullivan (Cork City) 26-01-17
