A girl who lives on the beach and hates swimming? Yep, that’s Lily. Her favorite food also happens to be broccoli, and let’s not forget her best friend is a seventy-five-year-old rescued Galapagos Tortoise named George. She’s a bit unusual, and also a bit lonely. When her father first brought home George, Lily didn’t even want to get close to him, let alone become his best friend. I mean what could an eight-year-old girl and an ancient Galapagos Tortoise possibly have in common? But Lily soon discovers it is the traits others find unusual about her that she shares with wise, careful George. When a hurricane hits their home and injures a young sea turtle, Lily and George decide to gather all of their courage and go on their biggest adventure yet to save him, even if that means diving into the ocean.
